Their Story
Eileen Thorpe was born in 1912, to parents James Thorpe and his wife, Lily.
The family lived in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, where James worked in the local steel works. Lily was a teacher. Eileen and her two brothers, Clifford and Eric grew up through the Great Depression, but they wanted for nothing, and each progressed happily through school.
Eileen met and married Charles Mosley in 1933. The couple had three children, Margaret,born in 1934, John in 1936 and Cynthia in 1944
Charles died after a long illness in 1980, and Eileen followed in 1996
